An art gallery like none I've seen......
MONA, the Museum of Old and New Art, in Hobart is a sight, if not for sore eyes, it's sure to give you sore eyes - talk about overstimulation of the senses - in more ways than one, as you'll discover when you venture there. It's overwhelming, so much to absorb in a day!
The museum, owned by eccentric philanthropist David Walsh, is never short of shock value with a sex-and-death section, a wall of porcelain vaginas and a machine called Cloaca that replicates the human digestive system and produces faeces.
For the most fun and scenic views of Hobart, take the ferry from Salamanca - it's included in the entry fee and that way you can have a few drinks to recover before sailing home.....
